You can earn 18 APA-approved CE credits by attending MIEA’s Mindfulness Teacher Certification Workshop. This applies to both the in-person and online formats. The workshop meets standards set by the American Psychological Association (APA).

How long does certification take?
Certification typically takes 6–12 months with flexible pacing. The process begins with a live, interactive workshop:
- 3-day in-person session (full days)
- 5-day online session (5 hours per day)
What’s the difference between the online and in-person workshop?
3-day in-person (full days):
Build connection and community in an immersive, interactive setting with direct access to MIEA faculty and fellow participants.
5-day online (5 hours per day):
Join from anywhere and engage at a relaxed pace with a diverse group of mindfulness practitioners. This format offers the flexibility of training from home while maintaining live, interactive engagement.
Both formats provide real-time engagement with MIEA faculty, interactive discussions, hands-on practice with teaching techniques, and valuable feedback to strengthen your skills.
What are the prerequisites for applying for Certification?
- Completion of our 5-week introductory course, Fundamentals.
Acceptable alternatives to Fundamentals include MBSR, MBCT, MSC, training by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, formal mindfulness training with an experienced teacher, or attendance at multiple retreats.
- An ongoing personal practice, most days, for at least 6 months.
What’s included in the tuition?
Tuition is $1,595 – $1,895 (group discounts available) and includes the full certification process:
- Phase 1 – Certification Workshop
- 3-day in-person or 5-day online training
- Real-time instruction and feedback from MIEA faculty
- Phase 2 – Teaching With Support
- Teach 3 mindfulness courses with expert guidance
- Phase 3 – Portfolio Submission
- Submit your portfolio and reflections
- Phase 4 – Certification + Support
- Receive certification and access ongoing teaching resources
How are CE credits awarded?
Our Mindfulness Teacher Certification Workshop includes 18 APA-approved CE credits for psychologists.
- CE credits are included in your tuition.
- The program meets the standards set by the American Psychological Association (APA).
- If you hold a different license, check with your licensing board to confirm eligibility.
What if I can’t attend the whole Workshop?
- 80% refund of tuition fee is available if the cancellation is made at least 30 days before the workshop start date.
- No refunds are provided after completing the certification workshop.
What’s Required to Complete Certification
